Start with the task
Compare the actual camera modules, not only the largest megapixel number. Test moving people, backlit faces, low-light detail and the focal lengths you really use. Check RAW, HDR and video support for the specific mode and editing app. Digital cropping, multi-frame processing and optical changes are not interchangeable.
Work through the checks
Test your own files, not only the examples in an advertisement. Include a difficult edge, a skin tone and a high-detail image. Check editability, export size, transparency, colour profiles and what remains available after a subscription ends. Compare the same crop at the final delivery size.
